Big Sprouts Pre-School Yoga
Tuesday 4:30 - 5:15 PM
Who let the down-dogs out? Pre-schoolers will unleash their inner-animals in this fun and interactive class packed with activities like Yogi-says and Om a Little Tea Pot. You and your child just might find yourself wondering if this is the same Yoga that mom (or dad) does.
We’ll open our bodies and minds as we explore animated poses, learn creative breathing exercises and connect with our kids during relaxation time. Plus, your pre-schooler will learn important life skills like how to “bunny breathe” to boost energy when they’re tired or release their anger with explosion sounds in Volcano. Most importantly, kids (and their care-givers) will find themselves playing games, laughing, telling stories, moving their bodies and becoming happier, healthier and more creative.
Classes are designed for children ages 4 to 6 years of age and should be comfortable without their parent in the room.
Enrollment limited to 10 children. Class is taught in English.

Amy Lane Zima
Amy began practicing yoga in 2000 following back surgery for a herniated disk. Initially fearful that yoga wouldn’t provide the intensity she craved, her teachers of both Vinyasa and Bikram challenged her to move beyond competition and focus on the positive, personal growth she could achieve by letting go. After finally learning that yoga is not a competitive sport, she was hooked. The balance and strength Amy gained from her yoga practice became a touchstone for her throughout the last decade. As the mother of two young girls (Helena – age 3 and Lucille – 14 months), Amy taps into that reservoir of strength daily and is now focusing her energy on bringing yoga and movement into the lives of the children around her.
Amy believes that her classes should be fun and exciting and, most importantly, should empower kids to uncover their unique abilities in a safe and non-competitive environment. In Amy’s classes she invites children into a world where breath work is taught using feathers and pinwheels, postures are transformed into wild animals and traveling around the globe doesn’t involve a long airplane ride, but an imaginary superhero cape. Kids (and their care-givers) will find themselves playing games, laughing, telling stories, moving their bodies and becoming happier, healthier and more creative.
Amy completed the Little Sprouts teacher training with Laurie
Jordan, Kaia Yoga and the Creative Kids Yoga® teacher’s workshop
with Missy Brown, both long-time child educators and inspirational
kid’s yoga instructors in the United States.
Amy is on her second tour of Beijing, returning Sept. 2010,
after a previous stay in 2008-2009. Her classes are taught in
English.
