| Su Ziyue (Sue): Sue began her study and practice of yoga in 2002. Since that time she has devoted herself to an ongoing study of a variety of ancient healing methods for promoting internal and external balance, including: acupuncture, Chinese meridians, Tibetan medicine and religious studies. Sue aims to bring her knowledge gained as well as a natural, loving attitude into her yoga practice and all elements of her daily life. In 2004, Sue began to teach yoga. Her teachings emphasize the union of the body and the spirit. Sue encourages students to explore the qualities of external growth and internal stillness, with a practice that is both physically active and internally/energetically calm. She guides students to re-member their inner-selves: to discover the balance between flexibility and strength; to connect with the space between the inhale and the exhale and the feeling of boundless expansion of the body and spirit following a period of control. Sue believes that true balance in life comes from within the heart. Following the birth of her daughter Mena in 2009, Sue’s interest in women’s health grew, particularly in the pre-natal and post-natal periods, and infant development. In 2010, after attending Robyn Wexler’s pre-natal yoga teacher training, and with Robyn’s encouragement, Sue began to teach pre-natal yoga. Sue feels sincere gratitude for her teachers: Robyn Wexler and Mimi Kuo-Deemer, for the encouragement and guidance they have always shown her. She also thanks Matthew Cohen, Max Strom and Donna Farhi, for their inspirational teaching and spirit. Sue is deeply thankful of her students; because of their support and encouragement, she continues to explore and study the spiritual path. Sue teaches in both Chinese and English. |
