Grace Cheng :

Grace began practicing yoga in 2002 under the advice from her orthopedic physician to help treat a degenerative, slipped disk in her spine. After she moved to Beijing in 2003, her enthusiasm for yoga continued to grow when she began to study Vinyasa Yoga at Yoga Yard with Robyn Wexler and Mimi Kuo. Inspired by Yoga Yard’s teaching method and style, Grace took her first teacher training course with Matthew Cohen in May 2008. In July 2009, she completed her 200-hour Yoga Alliance certification with Max Strom.

Through her own practice, Grace continues to learn about her individual challenges presented by her injury and related areas of weakness. At the same time, she has discovered her own strengths – both physical and emotional – while developing greater peace of mind through focus and concentration. Grace believes that a simple and safe practice offers students the opportunity to create a healthy body, positive attitude, and a conscious and peaceful mind, allowing them to embark on their own path of yoga learning.
Grace teaches in English and Chinese.
